Kingman Running A Fowl, Literally: More Chickens Allowed In Smaller Spaces
Kingman City Council this week voted to make it easier to have chickens in the city.
In a 3-2 vote, the council approved an ordinance allowing residents on lots less than a half acre to have one chicken per 1,000 square feet, according to the Kingman Daily Miner.
Council members debated whether urban gardening is becoming more popular if it comes at a detriment to neighbors who don’t want it next door.
The council also modified an ordinance allowing the same number of goats and sheep as horses.
The limit on chickens in smaller lots is 36.
